Our Logo

Why the Wolf?

The current logo is a redesign of an old FUSPA logo to honour Stafford Wulff. Stafford Wulff, a fellow student and previous FUSPA President was well respected among his peers and educators here in the degree at Flinders University. Stafford along with fellow paramedic, Gabe Hicks (BParamedicSc ’16), each donated $2,000 to establish a new scholarship to help new paramedicine students overcome some of the financial challenges they both experienced at the beginning of their Paramedic Science degree.

We were saddened to learn that Stafford passed away from cancer on Sunday 17 April 2022. His kindness, memory and legacy continues to live on through the depiction of the wolf on our logo.

The logo contains the ‘Star of Life’, which is internationally recognised as a symbol of EMS, with each of it’s points representing a part of EMS care. Overlaid is an image a wolf, to honour the legendary Stafford Wulff. Wolves symbolise loyalty, wisdom, intelligence and good instinct, all of which are appropriate for studying our profession. The logo also has the yellow Sun, similar to the Flinders University logo, with the wolf’s striking eyes also being Flinders’ yellow.

Long live the WULFF!
